PLEASE...CAN I HAVE ONE???

I am a big dog lover and I have been wanting a dog for awhile now, but it just doesn't seem like the right time to get one...They are a big responsibility and Mike and I both work. We also don't have a yard where a dog could run and play. But I still can't help looking in the classifieds at the puppies for sale. Yesterday I found an add for beagle puppies (which are near and dear to Mike's heart)...And just soooo cute!

Well...HOW CAN YOU RESIST THESE FACES!?

I just wanted to buy one so bad...but I just don't think it would work out without a yard and with us working...Maybe someday...

Happy 4th!

I absolutely LOVE the 4th of July...the fireworks and the barbeques and just the patriotic "I'm glad to be an American" feeling.
This weekend we went up to Bear Lake with the Hansen's. We had a blast playing in the water and with all the kids.

Then we headed to Star Valley and it was BEAUTIFUL!! We went on a bike ride (filled with adventure because Jenny got a flat tire half way through), watched movies, read books, and just hung out!!

Then I got to come home to our fun house... I planted a garden this summer and I'm loving it. We even have zuchinni, pumpkins, and tomatoes that are growing like mad! I love to garden and it makes our house seem more like a house...if that makes any sense.

AND I also got a hair cut (thanks Ems)!! I am loving it! It is so summery and fun!

All in all, I had a great 4th and I truly am so grateful to live in this beautiful free country.

Memorial Day!

This weekend we headed to Wyoming for memorial day with my family. We had such a blast! It was rainy and cold, but that is some of my favorite weather up there! We got a couple of good storms which hindered our plans for a day of fishing (but it didn't hinder my brother's fishing...he was out all day every day!) We watched some movies, read books, played tennis, and played TONS of games! On Monday we trecked to Jackson and walked around. We ate lunch there and had a blast. I almost bought a cowgirl hat, because I'm one of those wanna-be cowgirls...maybe next time. We had such a blast just being together and enjoying each other's company. Thanks you guys for such a fun weekend!

P.S. Sorry I don't have any pictures...Mike and I forgot our camera so I'm waiting to get pictures from my family.

Cake Decorating

So yesterday was my birthday and instead of just the plain old cake, I thought I would try my hand at decorating with fondant! I have never done any cake decorating before but have always wanted to (I think I have all this creative energy pent up and I have to let it out in random ways...and this was one of the them). So here is my first attempt at cake decorating. It was fun to try and I'll probably be decorating more cakes in the future because I really enjoyed it!

Carpenter Mike

So...I never blogged about my bookshelf...I had been wanting a bookshelf for awhile and Mike and I were looking around for fun one day when Mike said ,"I could build one like that". So I said,"Okay! I'll draw it and you build it!" So...Here is my drawing:

Sure enough, Mike looked at it and build it for me! Here is the finished product:

(Since this picture he built another just like it so that I can set them up like an entertainment center).

Thanks honey!!! I love my bookshelves!

EASTER

Mike and I had a fun Easter. We just hung out by ourselves at home...

We made beautiful creations from eggs, crayons, and dye...

Here is me dying an egg...

Here is Mike "dying" an egg (the dramatic little cute)...

We had fun just hanging out together.

Evaluations!

So today was the end of the trimester at South Cache where I student teach. I gave my students evaluations of me to see how they think I am doing as their student teacher. I got some really good feedback from most of the students. Many told me that I'm loud (which is what I've been told by my sisters/brother my whole life) and a lot told me that I nee to me meaner and that I should start "dishin' out lunch detension". Both good suggestions. But my reason for this post is that I think 8th graders are just hillarious. They make me laugh so hard! Here is my favorite response from the evalutations:

When asked what three things I could do to make class more interesting one student responded:
-"Don't teach math"
-"Light stuff on fire"
-"Have a monkey sidekick"

So there you have it. The formula to be a successful math teacher is that I should not teach math, become a pyromaniac, and train a chimp to work along side me. That's all you need to impress 8th graders!

Maui

Mike and I had a FABULOUS time in Maui with Kim, Pat, Angie, and Rob. We loved the warm air and the sunshine and we miss it already! Here are some pics from our wonderful vacation.
