Pack Rat?

I think I might have a pack rat on my hands.

This is what I found in Tanner's Cozy Coup at the end of the day after hours of collecting:
-A truck
-A teddy bear
-A stuffed dog
-A stuffed hippo
-A piece of pink ribbon
-A plastic fork
-A green bead necklace
-A mechanical pencil

Spring Days!

A couple weekends ago we we to baby animal days and my favorite part was letting Tanner ride the pony. He looked like he was having so much fun! He's still too small to try to hold the baby animals. He kept trying to grab the baby duck's beak. We had a fun day!

On these warm days (that the rain storms have interrupted) we've been playing outside. I've been putting the gate at the top of the deck stairs to gate Tanner in and then leave the deck door open so he can walk in and out as he pleases. I can be cleaning the kitchen and watching him at the same time! It's great! I thought he was so cute the other day just playing on the deck with his snack (that he dumped all over...but it's outside so I don't really care :). I had to take some pictures.

Easter Weekend

We just RELAXED this last weekend! Saturday morning we stayed at home during the first session of conference. Tanner had a fever again and we were monitoring it to see if we felt like going to my parents. He seemed happier after his nap and his fever went away so we headed down to Ogden. (Side story: I took Tanner to the doctor today and he has a double ear infection so he's on antibiotics AGAIN! Seriously this poor guy needs to get better!) My mom did a fun Easter egg hunt for the kids (too bad they had to stay inside because it was COLD all weekend). Tanner and Brigham thought the eggs were pretty cool. Brigham thought they were REALLY cool when he discovered they had candy inside.

We had such a fun weekend and enjoyed time with family and the uplifting words we heard from our Prophet and Apostles.

Puree Day!

I made a goal for myself to eat healthier. It is a constant battle!!! Why do the Cadbury eggs on the counter look so much more appetizing than the cauliflower in the fridge?? Why are there Cadbury eggs on the counter in the first place?? Well... I'm going to do better. As a mother and a wife I want to do this for my family so that we are all eating healthier and we get in good lifetime habits. I have a cookbook call Deceptively Delicious. Basically you puree your vegetables and "hide" them in recipes so that you are getting those nutrients you need. I thought I'd give it a shot and see if some of these recipes are truly Delicious AND packed with nutrients. So today I pureed my heart out. I steamed and roasted veggies and then went to town. Now I've got a freezer-full ready to "hide" in tonight's dinner (shh...don't tell Mike).

Birthday Bash!

A couple of Saturdays ago we had a big Birthday party for Tanner. We sent out invites and invited ALL the cousins! We had a bigs turn out and it was a total riot! There were lots of little boys running around our house. Tanner wasn't too sure about it all... He did try some cake and ice cream and thought that was pretty good stuff. After everyone left we tried out his cozy coup outside. He loved it! For the last couple of weeks since the party he only plays with his NEW toys. Thanks everyone for coming and partying with us!

When Will it End??

I am behind in my posting, but I promise a new post soon with PICTURES! We had a birthday party on Saturday that deserves a nice long post...so stay tuned for that.

We've been battling sickness at our house. Tanner had a low fever all day Monday and then Monday night it got up to 103.1 a couple of times. The nurse said to just keep our eyes on it. On Tuesday he was so sick...I felt so bad for the little guy. He just wanted to be held and was very lethargic. That night his fever spiked to 104.9 and he was breathing fast because his fever was so high. We immediately took him to insta-care and they did all kinds of tests on him (poor guy). They swabbed his nose for influenza, which came back negative. They swabbed his throat for strep (which made him throw up), and that was negative. The looked in his ear which was red and possibly an ear infection, but it was not inflamed so they kept other possibilities open. They took an x-ray of his little chest (which was quite hard to hold him still) and saw slight fuzziness at the bottom of one side possibly denoting pneumonia. Needless to say, he BAWLED the entire time (which was about 1 1/2 hours). I don't blame him! They gave him antibiotics that would cover the possibility of an ear infection or pneumonia. After two doses, his fever was gone, he wanted to play, and he was laughing and smiling again! I'm so glad to have him feeling better. Now if the cough and phlegm can just go away... Mike and I caught the same junk (minus the fever) Just sore throats and coughs and lots of phlegm... YUCK! I am so ready to feel better! I feel like we've been sick at our house for two months!

Side note: While I'm posting this Tanner discovered how to turn the TV off and on. So at this very moment he's standing in front of the TV pushing the button...off...on...off...on... LOVELY!

Tanner Timeline

Happy Birthday Tanner!

Today was Tanner's first birthday! I can't believe my baby is ONE!! Time goes SO FAST! We are having a party for him on Saturday so today we just sported our green and went OUTSIDE all day. We had a picnic lunch with MIke and then we headed to Willow Park and looked at the animals and swung on the swings. We enjoyed the sunshine! Happy birthday baby boy!!!

My Bucket. (by Tanner)

I have a green bucket. It is really fun to carry around the house with me. It holds lots of toys!
Yesterday, I put Mom's cell phone in my bucket. It was a lot easier to carry that way.

This morning I put my doggy in my bucket and a red pen.
I love my green bucket!!
